Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification - Vocational (No. 2392 )

This qualification has been developed in association with the electrical installation industry, and will satisfy the underpinning knowledge requirements for those involved in the initial verification of electrical installations.

The City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification was developed in conjunction with the electrical industry (including support from the NICEIC and ECA, amongst others) in order to meet the needs of the industry and centres to provide candidates with an introduction to the initial verification of electrical installations.

We are introducing this qualification because:

• Traditionally many less experienced candidates have found the jump to 2391-01 a step too far
• Feedback has suggested that a feeder-qualification is necessary to help less experienced candidates obtain the full inspection and testing qualification. After achievement and on-site experience they can proceed to the full qualification
• Periodic Inspection requires a different set of skills to initial verification. Industry has highlighted this and requires two different qualifications that assess individual's abilities in both. There will be no periodic testing in the -10. The 2392-10 does not cover existing installations

It is aimed at practising electricians that have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying, or who require some update training before going onto achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (2391-10).
